Colorful Sunday

Today April called and said that they were going to mom's for dinner. She wanted to know if Brian and I wanted to come. I asked what we could bring and she said, just some of our leftovers. I offered the Chili, she said no, I offered meatballs, she said no, I offered pasta salad, she said no. I told her that's about all I had. She said, "Well, I guess I'll just come out and say it....will you bring the Apple pie?? Oh and I checked and mom doesn't have just plain vanilla ice cream, so can you bring that too??" ha! So, Sunday dinner at mom's, adults inside talking, kids outside painting. What a great day! :)

Happy Birthday Jim!

Last night Jacinda came over and spent the night so we could get up early and go to the Junior League Thrift Shop Sale. I was up 'till 4 baking/cooking and then up by 6 to go shopping! :) We were home by 10 and I continued the cooking and our first guest came over around 12 noon. We had people over for the Notre Dame game and it was so much fun. Not the game of course, but it Jim and Keia came over with their little girl. Kaeleigh and Adria are only 3 days apart...look at all of Kaeleigh's hair! :) Then April and the girl's came over and then Jonathan. We had a full house and enough food to feed a small army! I love having people over and even though I was tired, it was a great day!!

** Happy Birthday to Jim!!** Brian didn't realize it was his birthday and of course Jim didn't say anything until about 11 at night! Even then, he didn't come out and say it...and I felt so bad, I wanted to go back upstairs and bake him a cake! He told me no though...I did make him a milkshake, I think he was happy with that.

Won't you take me to...Pumpkin town!

The song goes...Won't you take me to..funkytown! When Anitra was really little, she thought it was Pumpkintown! Today after work, I took Senica down to the pumpkin patch by our house. I let her pick her very own pumpkin. The prices that were posted said the cheapest pumpkin was $3.50. Senica ended up picking such a small pumpkin, the lady said that we just owed $1.25. Like mother, like daughter....frugile! ;) It was almost as good as having a coupon! ha!

How adorable!

Senica spent the night last night since I didn't have to work today! :) She slept in her bed ALL NIGHT and didn't wake up until 7:30...then she came to my bed and slept until 9:25! Whoo Hooo!

Senica and I cleaned, colored, did some projects...

Anitra and Ty came down for lunch. Anitra went and got groceries, I kept Senica and Ty. The DISH network guy came at 2:30...was here until 5:00. Anitra took Senica to gymnastics, I kept Ty. Brian home. Anitra and Senica back. Ty had 5, yes count them...1,2,3,4,5 poopy diapers today! Made dinner. Kristi over for dinner. Seth home from Bethel. We ate dinner, Anitra, Seth, Brian, Kristi, Senica and I! :) Dinner over, Sears guys here at 7:45 to deliver the stove and deep freezer!

I'm ready for bed...a day off, full of excitement! :)

bath time...Ty

Put a rubber duck on the calendar. I think tonight was the first time that I gave Ty a bath. He l.o.v.e.d it! He was eating the little rubbery-miniture-baking cups. I think they felt good where his teeth are coming in. How cute is his sudsy hair? He played and played and even laid down to let me rinse his hair. Such a good boy, he is! and ADORABLE! :)

bath time...Senica

As Senica so simply put it tonight..."my mom is gonna stay home, she's tired!" To give Anitra a little break tonight, Brian and I took Senica and Ty for about 2 1/2 hours. Enough time to feed and bathe them! As usual, they were complete angels!! I had a shirt and underwear for Senica, but no pants. So here is a pic of her in a pair of my boxers. Honestly, how cute!?

Goodbye Weaver's

How sweet is this? Senica saying her goodbye's to the Weaver's. Hope you guys had a good, safe trip home...and obeyed the speed limit! :)

Field day

The Weaver's are here visiting from Kentucky. This morning we got up and went to breakfast at Honker's. After breakfast, we stopped by Bethel to see Seth. The team was just inter-squading (word or not??) and after they were done, the kids got to play on the field. Senica and Grace holding hands were too cute!! Luck, with the helmet and holding te bad looked like a natural. It was so nice to see them and get to spend some time with them! :)

Finally Friday...

Brian and I decided tonight we would just stay in, rent movies and watch them from our comfy bed! Brian hurt his back this week at work and wanted to just lay low. I wanted to go order a new oven. Compromise = go order oven, pick up movies on the way home. That was the plan. Well, we went to ABC warehouse and I wasn't impressed. The guy was pushy (on commission, I guess) and the prices weren't that great. So, we went back to Sears (we had been there the night before) and finally found one we both agreed on! Yeah...movie time here we come. Or Not! We went to pay and I couldn't find my wallet!! agghhh - I started to panic, thought about when I had it out last. I came to realize, I had gotten it out at work for pops at lunch. So, back in the car we go, and back to Goshen! Sure enough, there laid my wallet under my desk where I sit my purse. We came home - no movies, by now it was after 9! We were both exhausted! Am I old or what?? I am losing my memory, or mind, or both! And I can't stay up past 10:30 on a Friday night!

One.last.stop

After gymnastics and the drive-in, I stopped by Anitra's to jump with Senica on the trampoline and also so Anitra and I could do some gymnastics too! ha! Anitra put the rings up on Senica's swing set so she can practice at home. Anitra and I were trying to show her how to do it and as poor of an example as we were, she still hopped right up there and did great! Ty cheered on the sidelines!

Dog 'n Mug

After gymnastics tonight, I took Senica to the drive-in and Anitra and Ty met us there. They had not yet been to the drive-in and Senica L.O.V.E.D it!! She loves Root Beer and wanted to know why it was in this "funny" glass. I was taking pictures of her and she wanted to take one of me. Lovely, huh? On the way home I asked Senica if sometime she wanted to go back....of course! From the sign, it looks like we only have 4 weeks left!

Gymnastics - session 2

Anitra and I took Senica to gymnastics again. She missed last week b/c she had that awful cold and was running a fever. She cried a little in the beginning and didn't want to go in, but as soon as Miss Barb came and got her, she was good to go. She's really getting good at knowing what to do at each station. It's so cute!! I love watching the kids...wish they would let me go in and take some pictures. Maybe I could offer to take some for their website...sneak in that way! ha

Had to change my title!

**Ok, so I had to change my title for today. Cheryl brought to my attention that I had the same title as Leah! Agghh...so much time together we get on the same train of thought! **

I have no pictures to post tonight. Well, I have lots of photos, but I am just too tired to mess with it!

Today when I was getting ready to leave work, Brian surprised me with a Iced Venti Vanilla Latte. Hmmm hmmmmm! April and the girls showed up at work too! We had computer problems and I didn't get out of work until after 5, so they headed home and I didn't get to see them. We were going to go to Syracuse to clean the boat and take some pics to put on Ebay to sell, but by the time I left work I was exhausted and that idea was shot! BUT, I still wanted to see the girls. We got Pete's Fish for take-out and ate at April and Brian's house. I came home and paid bills. FUN times! That was life tonight, nothing really special.

Off to bed...

Sunday at The Kaminskis house!

Brian and I had everyone over tonight for dinner and to talk about CHRISTMAS! We usually draw names and keep them secret. But Mom and Anitra said that April and I always try to figure it out, so they wanted to put names on the backs of the chairs and play musical chairs. Ok, so we have 7 adults and 5 kids in our house and it's the smallest house of everyone in our family. We were lucky to be able to all eat in the same room...playing musical chairs?? Not happenin'! Someone said we could do it in my backyard. Honestly, can you imagine? Seeing all these adults running around in the backyard?? My neighbors would have thought we were on drugs and probably would have sent the police over. In the end, we put all of our names in a bowl and drew names like normal people. This year, we decided to say who we have. I got April, Seth got my name. I'm pretty happy about this! :) I am really excited and can't wait to start Christmas shopping! :)

Best friends...cousins!

So we managed to get all of the kids to sit together and all smile at one time. This is quite a feat, let me tell you! Honestly, Brenna never wants her picture taken and I am not ashamed in having to admit that we bribed her by telling her she would be on the computer/blog! :) Hey, it worked and sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! :) I wish they knew how cute they all were together, I think that they would want to get their picture taken more often. ;)

Markers

Brian's mom (Linda) bought 2 big packs of markers for the girls. One for Janae and Brenna and one for Senica. When Janae and Brenna got to our house, they got the markers out and colored with no arguing for a good 45 minutes! Brenna drew fish for Senica and Janae made a thank you card for Linda. The markers are mini-markers called Pip-Sweaks! How fitting!! :)

Papa's got a brand new tractor

Papa called me this afternoon and asked if I could bring my camera over and take some pictures of his new tractor/toy to put on my blog. He wanted his boys in CT to be able to see it! :) So, here it is in it's debut...it's so nice and BIG that it takes the spot of a car in the garage!

Friday night football

Tonight after work Brian and I went to the Goshen/Concord football game. I didn't want to be those "older" people carrying in a bunch of blankets and sweatshirts and I have to say, we f.r.o.z.e! When we walked in, there was a group selling blankets....I sent Brian down with money to buy one as long as it was $20 or less. He was also going to get me a hot chocolate. He came back empty-handed! :( The blankets were $30 and said Goshen Track and Field and the concession stand had NO hot chocolate! Can you believe that? A high school football game when it was 50 degrees outside and no coffee or hot chocolate! Anyway, Goshen lost...bad. So, it might be awhile before we go to another high school football game! Despite being cold, it was a great night. Brian and I had a lot of fun and it was our first - him and I alone - date in a looong time! :) Oh and next time, I WILL bring a blanket, after seeing letter jackets on the sideline that said '08 (10 years after I graduated) I have given in and accepted that fact that I AM one of those "older" people! sniff sniff

The unofficial test

Anitra called today because Senica had a temp last night. She woke up from her nap today and again, she had a temp. No gymnastics today for Senica and she was quite sad about it! :( I stopped at Leah's house after work to pick up a strep test kit (Thank you Leah!). Anitra said she was taking Senica to the doctor, so instead of wasting a test, she would just wait to see what the doctor said. I watched Ty while they went to the doctor. **Side note** When I stopped at Anitra's after work, Senica asked me if I would take her to the doctor and Anitra could stay home with Ty.....aww how sweet??** Anyway, Anitra called all upset, the doctor was sending the test to the lab and told her she wouldn't get the results until tomorrow.

Moving on to Plan B. It went like this....Anitra held Senica down on the couch, I promised her a bowl of ice cream AND a milkshake, a sucker, basically everything including the moon! As Anitra held her poor little head, I stuck this long q-tip down her throat (she will probably need counseling when she's older) and she gagged and quite honestly, I almost gagged with her! After all was said and done, her test was negative (providing I did it right). So, Senica didn't want to come close to me for about 5 minutes, and I wondered if it was worth it, but it gave Anitra some peace of mind....until she asked....do you think I have a fever?? Ohhhh...Senica, it's your turn to hold mommy down. Just kidding! :)

Senica does look sick out of her eyes though, so please keep her in your prayers!

I have TEETH!

Well, they came through! His first tooth came on the 2nd and the next one on the 8th! I wasn't trying to take a picture of his teeth, but when I saw this picture I had to post it! :) The top picture is him rubbing his gums with his fingers. Too adorable!

Ty's dedication

Today was Ty's dedication at church. Poor Ty is teething and he has not really been himself. He's had a pretty rough week/weekend. :( It was Grandparents Sunday as well, so the little kids sang some songs up front. Janae and Brenna did a good job seeing as they are visitors and didn't know the songs before today. Janae (as you can see in the picture) was really getting into it! The song was saying to Be Strong and Courageous and I love the bottom right picture...they are in the middle of yelling Be Strong! How handsome is our little man in the top left picture! Seriously...so handsome!!

After church we went to Old Country Buffet. 14 people plus 2 babies in our party! The kids did really great and I was proud of them for sitting so long in a busy restaurant!!

We got home from lunch around 2 and Senica came down to take a nap. I got her to lay down and she was asleep in about 2 minutes!! About an hour later, Anitra and Seth dropped off Ty. They had the Athletic Hall of Fame banquet at Bethel. Poor Ty just is not feeling well. He was fussy (which is hardly ever) and I couldn't get him to stop crying. Finally I just rocked him and sang and he fell asleep. For about 30 minutes. And then the crying began again! :( I told Anitra I wanted to cry with him...poor little guy!! I got him a bottle and that helped him. When Uncle BK finally woke up from his nap, they had some male bonding time. Until the poopy diaper...then Ty got to come back to me! HA!! By the time I got our supper made, Ty's supper made, Senica a bath and a milkshake made Anitra and Seth were back! :)

Now, I'm beat....not really a restful weekend, but I love my family and will take the longs days over rest just to be able to spend time with them...they grow so fast! Sniff sniff!

Janae's date night

Friday after work, April and the girls came over from Syracuse for dinner at Anitra's. We watched old home videos and the kids played. Then, Janae came home with me for our date night. :) Senica was upset because she wanted to come too, so April took Senica home with her. Musical kids! HA!! Brian got called back into work around 9pm and worked until 2am! Janae and I watched The Little Mermaid and ate popcorn. Janae wanted to watch a video about Grandma Pauly, so we watched that and Janae was very interested in who everyone was. She is very interested in our family history - pretty impressive since she's 5! With Brian at work until 2...it's needless to say, Janae got to sleep in bed with me. Two words... BED HOG!

We woke up Saturday morning around 8 and went to the bathroom to brush our teeth. Janae looked in the mirror and couldn't believe how good her hair looked. She said, I can't believe my hair looks this good...usually it's a lot worse. It took all I had not to laugh...I asked her if I could take a picture of her hair. That's what the top picture is. The way that kid sleeps...all over the bed...I am not surprised she wakes up with her hair looking like this. Too funny! We made pancakes, eggs and sausage and had a nice breakfast together. Just us girls...Brian was at work again. 7am-12 noon!

So, we got showered and dressed and Anitra, Ty, Janae and I went to the Family Christian Bookstore. They were having a huge sale. I let Janae pick out something for herself to take home and something for my house for the kids to watch. She picked a pack of 10 I Love Jesus bookmarks, so she could share with Brenna and Senica. And for my house, she picked a BOZ sing-along. We then went over to Bethel to watch Seth's team scrimmage, then back home.

I took Janae home then, picked up Senica and had her home by 4:20. 40 minutes to spare before meeting friends for the Notre Dame game. Brian, Jacinda, Kristi and I went to dinner and watched the game at Between the Buns by our house. It was nice because we could have the Cubs game on too! :)

Whew...I was ready for bed! :)

Week 2...Terrific 3's

Senica is taking gymnastics lessions on Thursday nights. She's in the Terrific 3's class. It's a 45 minute class, once a week. Last week was week 1, but since we left for CT. that night, I haven't posted on it. Cheryl so kindly let me take off work early so that I could go with them and take some pictures. Parents/Aunts aren't allowed inside the gym during class, so I had to try and take pictures though what I like to call "Police glass". It's tinted and hard to get good, quality pictures...but I did what I could. :) Senica was awesome on the balance beam and I was beaming with pride as she just glided across it. Honestly, she went so fast on it (without falling) that on the way home Anitra told her to see if next time she did it, she could try to go slower. I didn't get to go to class tonight, but Anitra said that she did some stuff on the parallel bars and some other new things. :)

Tonight after work, Brian and I went to April and Brian's house. Brian cleaned out his boat and put a For Sale sign on it. April's Brian took it to US 6 and put it at some of his family's property. Hopefully we will get some calls this weekend. Brian is kinda pouting tonight (please keep him in your prayers), but told me - "I'll be over it in an hour and half". Why 1 1/2 hours? Who knows...just a number he came up with. Anyway, maybe someday we can get another boat...one that is more "family friendly" like a pontoon! :)

Well, time for me to sign off...I am beat tonight! I get to see all the kids tomorrow. April and the girls are going to Anitra's during the day and then coming over to my house after that. :) I can't wait!!

Sunday at the OCEAN

This morning Brian and I got up and went to church with Krista, Sadie and Judy. Krista's church is about a mile from their home. It had beautiful stained glass windows and I really wanted to take some pictures but knew I would really stand out if I did so. ha! After church we went back and picked up Ben...he wasn't feeling very well from the clams that we had eaten the night before. They were delicious! I think Ben just might have eaten one too many for his stomach. So Brian and I got our stuff all packed and followed Ben, Krista and Sadie to Krista's Aunt Ann's home. I thought we were going to the lake..Brian said he thought we were going to the ocean. Well, he was right. The drive there was beautiful and we ended up in Misquamicut, Rhode Island. She lives about a block from the beach! We walked down and Krista and I stuck our feet in the water and it was cold. I took some pictures and then we headed back to the house. They were having a big Labor Day party and the food was non-stop! They had chowda, shrimp cocktail, lobster, corn on the cob, crab cakes (the BEST I have ever had!), cheese and crackers, desserts, desserts, desserts!! Seriously, it was truly a TON of food!

Brian and I couldn't stay for all the fun, we had to get on the road...so we left at 3:30 and I was very sad to go! We had such a great time!

We weren't even on the road for 20 minutes and Brian had to pee...BAD he said. So, of course there is no fast food places or gas stations at the exit where we pull off. So you can guess...yup, pulls over on the side of the road (how fitting...since it was a year ago exactly since we got engaged) and I say to him...don't get arrested! I'm not gonna, he hollared back at me....as he is saying it I head the whoop whoop of a police siren. He drives right by us, going probably 10 miles an hour! My heart s.t.o.p.p.e.d! He just kept on driving though. I said to Brian "that came on pretty fast...you couldn't wait?" He told me no - he had to go...right then!! I promise you all...all 3 of my nieces can hold it better than my husband!

New England Aquarium

Brian and I drove into Boston this morning and our first stop once we got there was the aquarium. It was so AMAZING! I was so excited!! It is really an amazing place that you could literally spend all day!! The penquins reminded me of Happy Feet...but no snow. :) They had the a B.I.G. sea turtle that had to have at least been 100 years old! Seriously, he was ginormous! We got to see them feed the fish in the main tank...the tank is a cylander shape and goes from the ground level all the way to the top level (I think that there was 4 levels). There were turtles, baracudas, sharks, eels....all kinds of sea life in the tank. It was so awesome! I am posting just 25 of probably 100 pics that I took at the aquarium...and this was only our first stop of the day. :)
